| This Satellite has replaced, Panamsat 4 and 7 that were co-located here, giving improved coverage all over Asia and Australia except for the east coast where it is below the horizon. This satellite has been received as far East as Melbourne where it has a very very low look angle of around 2 degrees. Those that can receive it can get most of the channels on dishs in the 2.4 M range. For those with a low look angle to this satellite a 3M+ dish is recommended due to the increased ground noise. This satellite contains an unusual mix of channels, it has 24 C-band transponders with a huge global coverage beam, including single hop coverage between Australia and the U.K Unfortunately many of them are Power Vu Encrypted. Of interest to some will be the Multichoice Africa, Irdeto encrypted pay tv services. The Multichoice channels (Irdeto Encrypted) shown below. |
